Motorola Moto X 2nd Gen Review

The only thing not likeable about the Moto X 2nd Gen is its camera. Everything else about this smartphone screams
true flagship. The device has the Snapdragon 801 SoC along with Motorola's Mobile Computing System. This gives the device amazing performance, at per with any flagship smartphone today.

In addition, the 1080p AMOLED display is bright and has very good sunlight visibility. The feel is further enhanced by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection, which improves the touch sensitivity. The overall look of the smartphone is also quite good. The new Moto X is bigger version of the older model and is not as compact or light. The device still feels quite compact compared to other devices with the same screen size.

The premium feel is further enhanced by the addition of the metal rim. Motorola's engineering allows the rim to also act as an antenna, while avoiding the 'death grip' issue that Apple had on the iPhone 4S. The device automatically boosts the signal to areas of the antenna that are not covered by your hand.

The only issue with the Moto X in its camera, which though improved to 13MP, which disappoints in low light and isn't the best in normal outdoor conditions either. Also, while the pricing is still inexpensive compared to its main competitors (Samsung Galaxy Alpha amd Sony Xperia Z3 Compact), the device should've been even cheaper, ideally.

None of this though hurts the Moto X as much as the 16GB storage without microSD support. Easily one of the best smartphones in the market, but its camera performance and storage space can be a downer.
